The juxtaposition of the beauty of oil on water and the destruction it causes in the ecosystem is brought together with this elegant evening gown. Black strips of fabric wrap through the dress to represent oil as it pours into the ocean; the metallic layers show the iridescence of the oil sheen as it slowly pollutes the "water".
